About Harper Mahood

My love of storytelling drew me to the University of Oregon where I am working towards receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism while minoring in art with a photography concentration. I am passionate about sharing underreported stories and uplifting the voices of those who are not always traditionally represented in media.

As an artist and musician, I have a passion for reporting on the arts. I am currently employed at the Daily Emerald, an independent newspaper located at the University of Oregon, as an Arts & Culture writer. In this position my two passions intersect to serve the greater community.

As a journalist, it is crucial to connect with others and build meaningful relationships. I am inspired by everyday people and believe that everyone has a unique story that deserves to be shared.
